Local Tastes Better: Slammin' Strawberry Jalapeño Jam

LOCALLY-SOURCED and limited-edition are terms that speak to my foodie soul. Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market in Hope Mills, North Carolina, has been the talk of the town. Stand-up comedian Minda cooked up a side-hustle with the market's local strawberries. Simmering these sweet beauties into her secret Strawberry Jalapeño Jam. It has truly the perfect balance of heat and sweet. Not surprisingly, just like its maker.

Eaten with a spoon hovered over the fridge, is one way. Though drizzled copiously over a thick fillet of salmon, (and then grilled until caramelized,) is MY FAVORITE. A close-second in preparation is atop a cinnamon crunch bagel with schmear. Minda glazes cheesecakes with this in her own kitchen. Until then, cottage cheese swirled with the jam, and a touch of maple syrup will suffice. Who am I kidding? Even this humble version of her jam-med cheesecake is heaven! Next on my jam to-do-list is a spicy COCKTAIL recipe. Stay tuned to Facebook for the "Jam Tasting Party" to be hosted at Bertie's Retro Boutique in the Historic Haymount District of Fayetteville, NC. Bertie's will also be the exclusive sellers for these jars of heaven. Order ahead from the maker! They are made to order and seasonal. Contact Minda @firefly_nightsky on Instagram.
